Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago with actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first appearances were in television shows in the role of Jackie Harris, a character played by her mother in her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne. She was not allowed to begin acting with her parents till she reached old age, due to the strain it might cause. Perry acknowledged that she was not confident in her acting during her high school years however, she began to perform as way to get acquainted with new individuals in Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Following her graduation, Perry moved to New York to search for acting opportunities on TV, landing small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent but homesickness brought her back to California in search of theatre work. She and her mother starred on Broadway as a couple in The Other Place, in 2013. She performed with her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 on The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes of the ABC film The Family in 2016. In 2017, Perry performed a role as a support in the ABC political drama Scandal in which her father was the main character. The same year she was chosen to portray a younger counterpart to Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again as a younger counterpart to Mary Cooper's character. Despite her connection to the family of her character, she got the role through an audition.
